Michelle F. Rider, Partner, was honored at The United Hospital Fund (UHF) 2016 Distinguished Trustee Awards luncheon. Michelle is St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital Board Chairwoman. Michelle F. Rider, CPA, Esq. appointed as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital (SLCH.)

Michelle Rider, a senior partner at Catania, Mahon, Milligram & Rider, PLLC, has served as a member of the SLCH Board of Trustees since 2009, most recently as Vice Chair from January 2013 to December 2014. She is also a past member of the SLCH Foundation Board of Directors.

A graduate of Albany Law School, Rider's experience as a lawyer contributes greatly to her position as Chairperson. She has concentrated her practice in the areas of corporate law, commercial transactions and succession planning. A number of her clients are in the health-services delivery industry.

Pleased to welcome six new attorneys in 2014

In 2014, our firm added six new attorneys to our team. Each one reflects a diverse range of legal expertise and skill.

Robert E. DiNardo present position is Special Counsel. He is AV rated attorney. His primary practice has been devoted to employment and general commercial litigation in federal and state courts. His practice includes prosecuting and defending employment discrimination cases, wage claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FSLA), and health issues under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). He also handles complex environmental commercial, and real estate litigation, such as petroleum spills under the State Navigation Law.

Michael R. Frascarelli received his law degree summa cum laude from Albany Law School, where he served as associate editor for the Albany Law Review and contributor to the New York Environmental Lawyer. He also interned with several New York State agencies, the Department of Environmental Conservation, the Office of the Attorney General-Environmental Protection Bureau, and the Department of Public Service. Prior to joining the firm, Michael practiced in the private sector in commercial litigation, land use regulation and foreclosure law.

David A. Rosenberg earned his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from New York University in 2003 and worked in the financial services industry for six years before beginning law school. David graduated cum laude from New York Law School in 2013, where he served on the Editorial Board of the New York Law School Law Review and earned the Otto L. Walter Distinguished Writing Award. While in law school, David also served full-time as the Legal Assistant to the Special Narcotics Prosecutor for the City of New York.

Shay A. Humphrey is Special Counsel with the firm and practicing primarily in connection with general corporate law and commercial transactions with an emphasis in intellectual property and copyrights, trademarks and licensing agreements. She has extensive experience in medical services delivery law and regulation and government contracting process. She is admitted to practice in both the state of Florida and New York.

John W. Furst has almost 15 years of practice experience focusing in the areas of real estate, environmental, land use, zoning and municipal law. John represents developers and municipalities throughout the Hudson Valley in the land use review and approval process. He regularly appears before (and represents) local municipal planning, zoning and legislative boards in often complex and controversial approval processes. John has worked with major international corporations and successfully obtained approvals for the construction of cell towers, gas stations, drug stores, banks and big box retailers, as well as single family residential subdivisions and multi-family residential developments.

Matthew A. G. Petrosino joined the firm as a Law Clerk in November 2014 and became an Associate in December 2014. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy magna cum laude from Marist College and was awarded the highest honor, the Baccalaureate Award for Excellence in Philosophy. Matthew received his law degree cum laude from Albany Law School, where he served as a Senior Editor of the Albany Law Review. He also interned for New York Court of Claims, New York Department of State, and the Securities Arbitration Clinic at Albany Law School. Matthew received his Master's in Business Administration from Georgetown University where he spent time in Istanbul and Spain working as a consultant.

Lia Mulligan Each year, a group of Orange County individuals with a variety of backgrounds are selected to take part in a 10-month leadership training program. Class participants receive training on topics important to Orange County residents and businesses including education, health and human services, communications, government and politics, the environment, culture and recreation, economic development, leadership development and the judicial system.



TCLMM and Girls on the Run Girls on the Run

Michelle Rider (Senior Partner), Sarita Bhandarkar (Associate), and Lorrie Olson (Paralegal) were coaches for the Newburgh Girls on the Run Club and participated in the Orange Classic.
Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. They teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.

Michael Catania, ESQ. Named 2012 Rising Star!!!

 

Michael Catania has been named a 2012 Rising Star by the Junior League of Orange County, Leadership Orange and the Orange County Chamber of Commerce. The 2012 Orange County's Rising Stars Awards recognize people ages 21-40 who are up-and-coming leaders in their professional and volunteer lives. Nominees live, work or volunteer in Orange County. Seamus P. Weir Joins Firm as an Associate

 

Catania, Mahon, Milligram & Rider, PLLC is pleased to announce Seamus P. Weir has joined the firm as our newest associate in our litigation department. Seamus earned his bachelor's degree from SUNY Binghamton and his J.D. degree from St. John's University School of Law.

Following law school, Seamus joined the Orange County District Attorney's Office in 2006. As an Assistant District Attorney, he handled cases involving Driving While Intoxicated, Petit Larceny and Criminal Mischief. As a member of the Violent Felonies Unit, Seamus prosecuted a wide range of cases from gun possession to Attempted Murder.

Seamus is admitted to practice in New York and is a member of the New York State and Orange County Bar Associations, as well as the Women's Bar Association of Orange & Sullivan Counties.

 


 

Eric D. Ossentjuk Joins Firm As An Associate

 

Catania, Mahon, Milligram & Rider, PLLC is proud to announce Eric D. Ossentjuk has joined the firm as an associate. Eric D. Ossentjuk, Esq. earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Dominican College, where he graduated cum laude and received his J.D. degree from Pace University Law School, earning a Certificate in Environmental Law. While at Pace University Law School Eric was a member of the Environmental Law Review and served as an intern at the New York City Department of Environmental Conservation in Long Island City, New York. Eric was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar in December of 2002 and the New York State Bar in April of 2003 and has been practicing for nine years, concentrating in the areas of real property law, transactional law and municipal law

The firm is participating in the NYSBA Flood Victims Legal Assistance Program. The NYSBA is looking for attorneys comfortable handling insurance and or landlord/tenant questions.
