Lia E. Fierro, a native of the Hudson Valley, joined Catania, Mahon, Milligram & Rider, PLLC as an associate in September, 2011. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Social Science magna cum laude from Hofstra University in 2007 and worked as a field organizer for the New York Civil Liberties Union before attending law school. During her time at Boston University School of Law, Lia was a Note Editor for the American Journal of Law & Medicine, President of the BU Women's Law Association, and a lead advisor for the Student Advising Program. Lia also was specially selected for and completed an internship at Children's Hospital in Boston with the Chief Counsel for Research Affairs. Lia's activities during her internship focused on intellectual property conflicts and ethical issues in genomic medicine.

Lia earned her juris doctor degree with a concentration in Health Law in May 2011.
